Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor

Somehow the best of the series (so far). A prequel+sequel that balances both without feeling like it's trying for too much, has a character who's very me with how much he openly dislikes clowns, and stars a lesbian couple that can best be described as "workaholic married haunted-house-obsessive, and they've made it work thus far because neither got the real deal with either situation Until Now" For a franchise varying from fine to meh/just dumb, this is the first time it's felt like fun. Especially with the ten second post-credits scene that may be the funniest part

Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor

The latest installment in the Hell House LLCseries marks a return to form, offering up some genuine scares, while adding much needed lore. As many others have stated, there’s a lot going on within every film so far, and this film is no different. These films bite off a lot, some could say a little more than they can chew, but they are so interesting that I can overlook the vast amount of plot going on. This film uses tension extremely well, making some of the most intense moments of any of the films. This isn’t the ideal film that I want from this series, but it’s nice to see them taking a step in the right direction. I’d love for them to release a novelization that they can go in depth for, which could leave the films a little less plot-heavy and would be more enjoyable. Still, I had a lot of fun with this one and certainly hope to see another film from them in the future.

Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor

The found footage genre is over saturated with generic stuff a lot of times and this one doesn’t escape that realm but it goes far. The setups and atmosphere are set pretty well and there’s a scene that stood with me for a few hours after i saw it. But at the end, it committed the same sins that most of the genre does. The found footage should’ve been used as means to show the horror rather than the story itself. Giving the documentary a more prominent role on this would’ve save us from uninteresting scenes between the characters. Anyway, it was a refreshing take in a sea of generic takes.
