for completely unrelated reasons, does anyone know where to buy those “slippery when wet” signs?
Superman
HERE’S TO THE HOPE WE’VE NEVER QUITE LOST! This film, just like its protagonist, may not have been perfect but that’s exactly what made it special! Here, I saw and appreciated the many layers of this character. Like any human being, he stumbles, makes mistakes, gets irritated over small things, and most importantly, he holds on to hope—hope for the good of everyone. Superman has always been a symbol of light and hope for me since childhood. Among the lineup of superhero toys I had neatly arranged in my cabinet, this Kryptonian with his red trunks and iconic insignia never failed to grab my attention. Watching Superman Returns (my first Superman movie ever) didn’t help either—it only fueled my admiration for this classic hero. I cherished that film for years, only to later find out that many people disliked it. But that’s beside the point. Fast forward to 2022, when they announced a new Superman movie, I was completely elated! I had been in a superhero movie drought for years, but seeing that name again instantly lifted my spirits and reignited that childlike spark inside me. Looking back, I think that’s his real “super” power. It’s not just about being powerful—it’s about putting smiles on faces and lifting hearts. And that’s exactly how I felt walking out of the theater just now. I can’t even begin to explain how happy I am with the cast James Gunn assembled. David Corenswet was phenomenal! I’m so proud to see him take on this role, especially since I’ve been a fan ever since his first Netflix show. Nicholas Hoult was annoyingly great (in the best way), and Rachel Brosnahan was as stunning and charismatic as ever, especially her palpable chemistry with David. And the soundtrack? It definitely pulled at my heart strings. I legit had tears in my eyes. Let’s also not forget how beautifully shot the flying sequences were! I felt like I was flying with him the whole time. I also really appreciate Gunn’s approach to this film. I love that they didn’t rely on the usual origin story and instead went with a timely, relevant plot that reflects what we’re facing today. It was a brave move and it paid off! This movie, like Superman, may not have been perfect. But to the kid in me who just watched it, and the same kid writing this now, it was everything! And maybe that’s all that really matters.
Superman
Watching it a second time just makes it even better!

Superman
When the first trailer dropped a while back I absolutely hated how it looked and was probably just going to skip it. Second trailer comes out, looks a bit better but still really ugly. And then I go to see Minecraft in IMAX and they play the extended preview. Hype instantly went up. I’m so glad I didn’t let my first impression influence me because this was SO GOOD. Goodbye Snyderverse, nobody misses you. 9/10
Superman
the best superman movie i’ve seen since Christopher Reeve
Superman
As a good man once said, "Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things…" And Superman gives me hope. It's such a joy to look up at the skies again, watching this larger-than-life hero fight for truth, justice, and the (true) American Way. I don't want to delve too much into my thoughts since I'm still sort of processing it all, but I love this new iteration of the Man of Steel. It’s different, but in a good way. I also have hope for the future of the DCU.
Superman
