The most effective horror I’ve experienced in a short film thus far! Stunning and chilling. I’m so so curious to see how the feature expands on this premise.

An employee of mine had suggested this short to me ages ago and thought October would be the perfect time to finally visit this short. And I’m so glad that I did! It’s got a pretty straight-forward concept, but they manage to craft a compelling story with some creepy atmosphere in the short 7 minutes. It doesn’t fully explain what was going on, but it was strong enough to not have to fully spell out exactly what was going on. I’m always hesitant when people suggest short films to me, but I am very pleasantly surprised by Portrait of God.

man what?? only one main character, told an entire well written, well executed story in 7 minutes, and was shot beautifully. If this was turned into a full length movie it would be one of the best horror movies out there. I gotta tap into more Dylan Clark.
