The Devil's Rejects
Rob Zombie has always been somebody that I've had a love/hate relationship with. When you see a Rob Zombie movie, you know it is a movie that is made by him. It has a certain feel, sound, and look to it all. And for the most part I like that. He really nails that 70s grindhouse feel with this. Maybe even more so than House of 1000 Corpses. But the one thing that has always been an issue with me is how he writes his dialogue. It sucks. I don't mind the fact that all of his characters are disgusting rednecks. Again, that's his style, and I respect him for it. Just please give them more interesting things to say. By the end of this, I had heard enough nad jokes for a while. Outside of that, a pretty solid job.

Just as much violence as the first, but I think the first one was honestly better. It had a more chaotic sense to it, while this one felt strictly like it was a film, not a music video, like the first one. Nonetheless, The Devil's Rejects was a fantastic film that I will not forget for a long time.

I remember seeing this opening day, and after Freebird faded out I went right to the box office to buy a ticket to the next showing. A gross and deeply unpleasant movie, but the kind of large scale go for broke filmmaking that makes it work. Despite my love for his HALLOWEEN 2 (https://boxd.it/1yda), I don’t think Zombie has ever topped this.

Wow, what a ride. Who knew that a cast of the most deplorable characters ever could be so damn engaging? And that ending, holy shit. That is top tier perfection.
