Avengers: Endgame
As people who have seen the movie before, the film is broken down into 3 distinct acts, 1) Immediate aftermath of Thanos snap and how people are dealing with the fallout 2) Wacky time travel adventure to gather Infinity Stones to undo Thanos' damage 3) Massive battle with Thanos While I think that the first 2 acts are done quite well, I could never shake the feeling that the 3 act lags and kind of disappoints to a degree. Upon rewatch, I've come to realize that I think the biggest misstep of the movie was making Thanos the main villain again. At literally the begging of the movie, Thor decapitates Thanos in anger after realizing the Infinity Stones are gone and there is nothing that the Avengers can do at this point. During the wacky time travel adventures, another past variant of Thanos is able to decipher the future Avengers plans and creates a new nefarious plot of his own to come to the future and reign supreme. But since this Thanos is basically a whole new character at this point, Avengers: Infinity Wars Thanos is now cast aside for new much more power hungry Thanos. It doesn't help as well, to give all the Marvel characters stuff to do, we are subjected to a billion Man CGI army of nameless people that are here to be slaughtered in droves. Captain America: Civil War had the best fight scenes in this series because it did the complete opposite and everyone you knew were fighting other people you also knew. Overall, it isn't a bad film in any sense. In fact it does have a lot of my favorite moments in any Avengers film. But after 2 hours of really solid storytelling and great interpersonal character moments, it fails in my opinion to create a solid conclusion that follows the heights of the moments that proceed it.

epic ending to an epic saga outlandish plot but i enjoy its unpredictability even in its cliches everybody wants a happy ending, right ?

Some massive plot holes, questionable decisions and many unanswered questions, End Game is truly a mixed bag. The strong women (Captain Marvel) is by far the most obnoxious/annoying character in all of the MCU, why couldn’t it of been her instead of black widow who dies I’ll never know. There are so many fantastic female characters in these films, but they couldn’t stop there, Captain Marvel has to be the STRONGEST of them all. Apart from that it’s pretty cool, some great fight scenes and Thanos being Thanos. He has more quotable lines than everyone else combined. I like how Iron Man and Captain America’s stories ended, and there was some touching moments. Scarlett Witch going toe to toe with Thanos was very cool to see. When I first watched this I loved it, but on my second viewing it isn’t as great as I remembered. Thanos gets this a four star, it’s inevitable.

Observações sobre a - última - revisão que faço desse filme: - Feige (o real "autor" dessa joça que já tem quase 20 anos) arquiteta esse "mega-evento" sob uma ótica buocrática tão evidente que já não existem personagens; os tipos vistos em Ultimato se assemelham a bots automatizados para vociferarem piadas e autoreferências incessantes. Se, no início, existia alguma personalidade mínima no esboço, aqui nem isso é algo presente. São apenas meros avatares que os irmãos Anthony e Joe Russo insistem em fingir que possuem alguma natureza dramática por trás - e isso torna a volta do Capitão América e do Homem de Ferro ao passado uma abstração tão óbvia quanto artificial, "dramatizada" sem qualquer vontade. - Tilda Swinton só entra em marmelada (Wes Anderson, filme da Marvel), mas ao menos faz questão de elevar a sua presença até no meio de uma "celebração de firma" mixuruca como essa. - Os dois maiores erros da carreira de Hiroyuki Sanada: fazer um filme da Marvel e integrar o elenco de uma tolice como Bullet Train - ou se sujeitar a fazer qualquer filme de um farsante como o David Leitch. - Ninguém comenta sobre a real proeza dos irmãos Russo em Ultimato: conseguir fazer com que todas as cenas que filmam sejam feias. Na verdade, é até engraçado ver que os aplausos e comoções na sessão de cinema estão centradas no extrafilme; honestamente, é até reconfortante, pois seria difícil explicar as gerações seguintes que bilhões de pessoas realmente acharam isso aqui (https://youtu.be/rrGMENN1iaY?si=Q86an8X1ZIcpVDio) bonito. O meio do filme com as voltas no passado só enfatizam essa imobilidade criativa de estabelecer algo que faça mais do que alusões internas a outros produtos - e que as pessoas tenham se animado com essa perspectiva capitalista é um mau sinal. - A luta final é a síntese perfeita dos 11 anos de dominação cultural e mercadológica da Disney: gastar milhões para fazer uma grande batalha que consiste em poses de action figure executadas pela criança menos imaginativa que já existiu e ambientadas no cenário digital mais acinzentado e inexpressivo que poderia ser feito. - Um mundo onde adultos reagem assim (https://youtu.be/lBp3Vz_moGU?t=2460) a um filme como esse não merece salvação nenhuma. - Oficialmente odeio fanservice e easter egg
