You Don't Know Jack
“I have a religion, his name is Bach. Johann Sebastian Bach. And at least my God isn't an invented one.” Rewatching this...was absolutely necessary for me. Because I have to admit, I was not as interested as now when I watched this for the first time, last year. I never really knew who Jack Kevorkian until last year. Never heard of his name, his significance—nothing. But now rewatching it again, it made me, in a way, change my point of how I view euthanasia as a whole, really. What I love about this is that other than the amazing performances of not just Al—but also Susan Sandron, John Goodman, and even Brenda Vaccaro—but also the storytelling of perhaps one of the most sensitive topics in human conversation and opinions, really. Not many people share Jack's views, because no one would even dare talking about it like how Jack and his allies did. Very compelling and an underrated film. I love and appreciate it more now, and yes...Al Pacino in colonial clothes at the credits? Welcome back Revolution (1985) (https://boxd.it/1Ro2)! 😆
