Yeah this is pretty okay. It seems if you watched this while growing up you’ll probably love it as an adult, nostalgia for you. As somebody who watched this for the first time it wasn’t anything special, sure it’s funny at times and Emma Stone gives a solid performance, but it’s not that interesting or unique. People are saying it has an important message, but surely any girl over the age of 6 knows not to pretend to solicit sexual acts for money? Also I’m glad I wasn’t born in America, as this makes their school look simply detestable. Thank God I was born in England. The most likeable characters are her parents and teacher, who are both great people and the actors all give great performances. Overall it’s quite fun but nothing groundbreaking.

Honestly enjoyed this film. It had a dry but corny humour that worked really well and didn’t make me cringe thankfully. The plot wasn’t half bad either and the romantic comedy wasn’t too overdone. Brava. Still won’t ever watch La La Land tho - you can’t make me!
