I cannot begin to express the gratitude that I have toward this film. This film shows the horrors that many people in the LGBTQ+ community have had to go through, and unfortunately will continue to. The Miseducation of Cameron Post is one of the rare films that is absolutely necessary, whether people want to see it or not. It's a film that solidifies who I am as a person, and shows the struggles that many of us face. While I may not have had the same experience that Cameron had, it still is hard to see that it is something that does happen to many young adults today. This film truly is necessary viewing, and features some of the strongest performances that I have seen throughout the entire year. I cannot wait to revisit this film, as well as read the source material, since this film moved me in my soul.

This had such emotional depth and even though it was about an incredibly dark time in these characters lives, the moments of levity particularly at the end warmed my heart. The performances felt authentic, which allowed me to care deeply for these characters. This is something that Boy Erased (a similar story, with similar beats) just doesn’t have the range to accomplish. Of course this is all thanks to the wonderfully talented director behind Cameron Post, Desiree Akhavan.
