Bad Times at the El Royale
For a second, I thought Quentin Tarantino was behind this madness.
Bad Times at the El Royale
Fuck Tarantino. This is better and more fun than Hateful Eight Dakota Johnson support system, #GetHerMoreRoles
Bad Times at the El Royale
"I've heard it. And I don't care. I'd rather sit here and listen to the rain." That critique of hers leveled at a bog standard white dude movie cult persona could easily just be leveled at the whole last forty or whatever minutes of said bland white dude cult material. Interesting stageplay and interesting mystery just shooting itself dead and lugging the body across the "moral of the story" finish line. Can't fault the actors for doing what they could.

Bad Times at the El Royale
Drew Goddard’s latest project Bad Times at the El Royaleis one of the most stylish, entertaining films that I have ever seen. Taking Influence from many pulpy films before it, Bad Timespacks in a punch with a tight script, a fantastic ensemble, beautiful cinematography, and direction that takes the film into an amazing direction. This is the type of film that is meant to be seen on the big screen, and I am so glad that I was able to experience this film, and I hope to catch it one more time to soak in every aspect of it.
Bad Times at the El Royale
Jon Hamm makes me wanna cry with his yeeehaaaw accent
Bad Times at the El Royale
A bit shaggy, but still a pretty good time. I wish the central conceit of the hotel straddling California and Nevada factored in more. Again proves that Hemsworth is at his best when playing weirdos. May have been better as some sort of anthology film or show?
Bad Times at the El Royale
Fun, intense, and captivating. Bad Times at the El Royale is a brilliantly executed thriller with lot of smart layered plot twists and outstanding cast ensemble especially Cynthia Erivo and Chris Hemsworth for their respectfully incredible performances.
Bad Times at the El Royale

Bad Times at the El Royale
The Year is 2018: Ranked and Reviewed (https://boxd.it/1OIs4) 1960s glow — bright, wet, and fascinating — a time that transports onto screen in bold big letters. Bad Times at the El Royale ticks all the right boxes for making this timeline a marvel to look at, and meshed with its foot-tapping soundtrack breathes more life to this incredibly enjoyable time of crime at its most convenient. From its title cards that introduce characters, rooms, and places, Drew Goddard seems to be recreating a Tarantino-esque production, and he does a pretty darn good job at it, despite a few issues in its pacing. The Hateful Eight meets The Cabin in the Woods in a sense, and even better than the latter, the film delivers on tension and cast of fantastic actors — Jeff Bridges steals the show, and almost does Cynthia Erivo as Darlene Sweet who's character probably the finest. The action isn't heavy, but it is quick and tense — there are certainly a few "oh shit" moments. Chris Hemsworth turns up chiseled to the core — his character is one loose motherfucker — making another suppose bad times fade into one big good time. 4.2/5
