Overall this film is fun to watch for anyone who is a fan, or was a fan, of Pokémon. The acting is very questionable at times but the Pokémon look great and Ryan Reynolds plays an amazing part, with some great dialogue.

Random thoughts: -Em, what in the actual f*ck i just saw? Wherever it is, i find it really fun. -The movie never answered the question I asked myself as a viewer that has nothing to do with the franchise: that is, what are the pokemon? Beats me, i think that never care. -The moment when ditto transforms, alike the High Life's black hole scene, are both material for improve my next nightmares. -So... yes, BEST FLICK BASED ON A VIDEOGAME (i guess?), and... that isn't says a lot, but good job for a mediocre director. -It was... decent?, the plot it's cliché-filled and really improvable, but i think i need to see more of this, even if i never experienced anything related of the videogame/movie/animə franchise. -Also, Ryan Reynolds. -Also, shot on film. -#I'mAPsyduckAndIDon'tCare.

Detective Pikachu could have been a run-of-the-mill detective film, with nothing noteworthy about the execution if the Pokémon hadn't been in the story. Fortunately, they were, which made the film so much fun to watch. At first, I was a bit skeptical of the animation, since the opening scenes left me a little nervous in the execution, but overall, the integration of the Pokémon into the real world ends up working. Naturally, Ryan Reynolds is hilarious, and has great chemistry with lead Justice Smith. The story certainly is cliched, and could have been a typical detective film that would have been predictable from the get-go, but Pokémon definitely make up for the predictability, allowing us to truly see a world with the creatures. Detective Pikachu is a visually stunning film that everyone can enjoy, even if you're not a diehard fan of Pokémon.

As soon as I saw Justice, I was like, ‘Oh no, flashbacks of ‘I saw the TV glow’!’ Pokémon are pretty cool and cute to watch, but honestly, it didn’t really hold the kiddos attention.
