I gotta give some props to Favreau: great set pieces, cool practical effects, A-list actors with (mostly) good performances, some witty dialogue, and decent special effects. I feel like those’re all truly his bread-and-butter at this point. I think the main issue with this one lies more within the realm of the story: great concept but lackluster execution. It’s not terrible by any means but it could be better.

“When you get to hell, you can ask for it back.” The things we watch for the ones we love. This was incomprehensible, dull, boring, etc. But hey! Daniel went shirtless again (lovely tits as always) and Harrison Ford was here too for some reason? And Paul Dano??? What a weird cast.
