The King
I love medieval politics, I love Timmy
The King
Yet another medieval epic, The King proposes many interesting concepts, but without further examination, becomes a typical war film, with decent action scenes and some great performances, but an overall typical epic.
The King
Those final 30 minutes of this film really revitalized me.

❝All men are born to die. We know it. We carry it with us always. If your day be today, so be it!❞ · · ───── ⊹⊱∆⊰⊹ ───── · · Constantly bleak and sometimes claustrophobic, The King, despite moments of sloth, is powerful and well-made. The cinematography and camerawork, especially during the battle sequences, were beautiful, and the soundtrack was perfectly subtle yet persuasive. I also really liked the costumes and sets, but I can say with absolute vehemence that every single haircut I saw was diabolical. I wasn't entirely sure Timothée Chalamet would be a good fit for Henry V, but surprisingly he was commanding, and for the most part the rest of the cast matched his passion on-screen; I did think it was pretty funny that Timothée, a French guy, was playing a British king, while Harry Potter bro Robert Pattinson was the Dauphin of France.
The King
wasn’t paying that much attention i won’t lie, but the fighting scenes were very cool to me

Cult of Personality 2025 (https://letterboxd.com/allbeef/list/cult-of-personality-2025/) #6 of 52 | Robert Pattinson (https://letterboxd.com/actor/robert-pattinson/) A great little medieval Shakespeare adaptation. My biggest complaint falls upon the ending. It almost feels unfinished, and I was left wanting more from the story. Things were just getting good! I will say this film brings a whole new meaning to the term ‘production design’ tho. Just gorgeous!
