A 13 year old girl sells pictures of herself for money, to fund going to a concert. Mum is emotionally abusive and borderline insane at times. Said 13 year old gets her period and mum thinks 13 is too young? It’s funny and cute at times, like the red pandas but felt very similar to other Pixar films, formulaic. Still an interesting film, if I was younger I may of enjoyed this more.

YES, let teenage girls be gremlins! Overcooked mom story, undercooked dad story, sure, it's another Disney outing, but thankfully with a hyperspecific range of play and focus that aids it every minute of the way. I wish Domee Shi could have budgets and audiences outside the confines of the Mouse.
