Diary entries forThe Munsters
The Munsters
The thing about this being Rob Zombie's second-longest film ever (may actually be his longest given when the credits start!) is it feels every minute of it too At least when he made terrible films usually, they didn't feel like they dragged. Not even the show did (sub-half-hour episodes, and only two seasons of them! Didn't overstay its welcome!) God help us all if this is the beginning of a new trend for him/if he thinks This is what his work has been missing
The Munsters
I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but The Munsters is a ton of fun. Yeah, the jokes might be dated, but other than that, it’s a riot. It has Zombie’s influence running through its veins, which can be seen as a good thing or completely detrimental (I agree with the former). It’s out there, but what else could you expect from a Rob Zombie film? I’m gonna die on the hill that this is underrated and genuinely a good time, y’all can just stay angry.
The Munsters
Y’know my only realissue with this is the pacing. Yes, it’s cheesy, campy, and dumb, but it’s supposed to be. But it’s too slow, it needs to be a little zippier, almost feels like there’s space for audience reactions. The production design and general look of the film is fantastic. The cast is game, and all know what movie they’re in. I don’t know that I’ll ever really watch this again, but it feels like a pleasant enough diversion to throw on in the background while carving Jack-o-lanterns with the family. 2022 Ranked (https://boxd.it/fSyMM)

wtf is with the acting
The Munsters
