Premise definitely was not meaty enough to expand into 2 hours, script was lacking, feels like a highly produced YouTube skit, and the emotional beats fall flat, soundtrack was fuego tho

A really good and thought provoking concept is muddied by consistently mismatched tones. The performances are all quite good, but RJ Cyler and Donald Elise Watkins, and their friendship is at the core, and work best. The attempts to jump from SUPERBAD-esque comedy, to social drama/thriller don’t quite work. It doesn’t help that the movie is probably 20 minutes too long. Not a bad way to spend 100 minutes, but if you’re looking for a 2022 film that handles race in a much more interesting/nuanced way check out MASTER. 2022 Ranked (https://boxd.it/fSyMM)

La comedia moralmente reflexiva de Emergency te hace reir y reflexionar nuevamente sobre el rasismo principalmente por las costumbre estadounidense que acompañan la mala fama de la policía local del país, la película peca por ser demasiado tibia ante su discurso pero definitivamente al finalizar la noche volveras a casa con una sonrisa.
