i already expected that they are going to cut so much from the book but what’s upsetting me the most is how much they skipped and cut celie and shug’s relationship when its such an integral part of the story, it’s literally the heart of the story (or one of). its still such a beautiful film though and miss celie is so so loved.

This film hurts in the quietest way possible. It’s long, heavy, and emotionally draining. Celie’s journey is heartbreaking to watch — years of abuse, silence, and survival told with patience. The film isn’t perfect, and at times you can feel its length, but the emotional payoff is undeniable. Themes of resilience, sisterhood, and finding your voice hit deeply. That final reunion? Pure tears. Though I believe Spielberg shouldn’t have directed this film. It doesn’t really feel like his style.

La segunda guerra para combatir después de la esclavitud es el machismo excesivo que se origino después de esto, Steven Spielberg identifico una historia repleta de maravillas, una de ellas las increíble interpretación de Whoopi Goldberg, Oprah Winfrey y Margaret Avery, el color purpura es un emotivo y cautivador drama que logra empoderad a la mujer de color en una de las épocas donde mas sufrieron.

Another movie of his I had never heard of. A shame because I thought it was great. Absolutely heart wrenching at times but a story of resilience. Nice acting all around. Nice characters. Really enjoyed this. A tough watch at times, but 100% worth a watch. 8.3
