“Tell him he's about to copulate with a creature from outer space.” So very disappointing. I wasn’t expecting a movie that would shake me to the core, mind you, but it did give off the impression that of a film that was being misrepresented — something similar to the sleeper hitJennifer’s Body. I was very wrong. There is a lot that happens in this movie that isn’t helping it’s case. The ridiculous plot elements, an incredibly ordinary story, and the characters that we spend all our time with (Like seriously? One of them is a fucking empath?). I don’t understand at all why this group was hired in the first place. I’d imagine this is all a little beyond them. I’m also aware of some heavy studio interference, as is tradition for any sci-fi film in the late 90’s. I wish they would have gone all the way with all of H.R. Giger’s truly inspired design ideas — though I can understand why they didn’t, seeing as a lot of it was impossible to create for a live action film.
