The Break-Up
Film #9 of June 2017 Scavenger Hunt Task #26: A Movie That Features A Song By Queen The Break-Up isn't a revolutionary comedy by any standard. While it doesn't bring anything new to the table, the film still has its charm. Rom-coms are a guilty pleasure of mine, so this film really had something going for it with me. There are many parts that fall flat, many jokes that just aren't funny, but there are some lines that are hilarious, making up for the times when the film slows down some. The Break-Up isn't the best comedy around, but its still a good comedy to sit down and watch to have a few laughs.

I don’t mind the drama with the comedy, but this movie feels like it can’t decide which it wants to be. The tonal shifts can be jarring, and while the drama feels very real, some bits of the comedy feel out of place or too heightened. Love D’Onofrio in this, and am reminded that he elevates anything he’s in.
