The Green Mile

John รฉ um homem grande com medo do escuro e um coraรงรฃo gigante. Que atuaรงรฃo absurdamente boa do Tom Hanks. O filme รฉ muito bom, sรณ que รฉ muito longo; acredito que, se tirasse algumas cenas, ficaria perfeito.

The Green Mile

Only had seen Tom Hanks in Youโ€™ve Got Mailso I was excited to see this role from him. Literally knew nothing about this going into it, didnโ€™t even know Frank directed this. Which is crazy because while I was watching this I was like damn I shouldnโ€™t compare the two but this the better jail movie over Shawshank Redemption. With that being said, The cinematography, writing, and direction are great. Anyways, this shit is fucking amazing. The exposition in this is literally perfect. And every moment feels necessary. Even when you think this small scene of a mouse being found in the prison is something to just take up some time, it becomes one of the biggest parts of the story. I love the slight subtleties in how you can notice the emotion changes just from slight facial movements, itโ€™s subtle but itโ€™s there and contributes a lot. Also love the overall look of this movie, it really feels like itโ€™s own world. Every performance in this is so good, nobody is falling behind, nothing is off, literally everyone absolutely killed it. The performances are so good that I feel like I gotta watch an interview or something to see how they really act so I can separate the characters from the actor. I like the score, it fits every moment that itโ€™s apart of. The sarcastic comedic parts are good. Everything is so captivating. Such great storytelling, itโ€™s like every scene is so powerful. Itโ€™s a movie that shows everyoneโ€™s strengths and everyoneโ€™s weaknesses. You see every side of everyone. You can tell The Green Mile place has basically become a family, almost in the weirdest way because all the inmates are on the way to death. The guards care for them, the inmates seem to try and make the most of their stay and last moments, and it feels like every execution is bittersweet. This is definitely one of the best, most well crafted, and well done movies iโ€™ve ever seen. I think this is one of my favorite movies and I definitely could see it entering my top 4. With a lot of the recent movies iโ€™ve seen, iโ€™ve thought to myself, โ€œman if they just gave more background to these characters or the situation this could be 10x better,โ€ and thatโ€™s exactly what this movie excels at. The whole second half of this movie could be its own movie, but the fact that you get the first hour and a half makes the second half 100x better and hit so much more. Itโ€™s because you have the background to everything thatโ€™s led up to this moment, and not just verbally, we get to see it play out. Amazing. Idk how to explain it, but I almost forgot I was watching a movie. Like the fact you can leave a review on this is crazy. It feels so real, so intense. Even though it took me all day to watch this, I definitely recommend, if you can, to try and watch this all in one sitting and fully immerse yourself. What an amazing movie. I see this movie get high praise but i feel like i donโ€™t hear this get talked about enough. Loved every second, every moment, every detail. Wow.
