it was lovely, like a dream ˖𓍒ִ໋ ⟑πŸͺ». έβŠΉπ“ƒ— ⊹ as a mythical world + fairytale lover and dreamer, legend was made for me. i wish i could lie in that ethereal forest forever. so enchantingly magical. the set, makeup, and wardrobe actually glitter and shine! what's stopping film studios from creating more majestic, fantasy moving pictures like this?

Legend

❝The dreams of youth are the regrets of maturity.❞ 𐄁──── ο½‘οΎŸβ˜†: *.☽ .* :β˜†οΎŸ.────𐄁 I have close to zero idea what I just watched. While its cinematography and visuals are absolutely gorgeous (so much glitter absolutely everywhere), the writing could definitely be improved on, because I felt like I was on crack trying to understand everything going on. The best performance in this film was easily Tim Curry's Lord of Darkness; Tom Cruise looked like he didn't know what was going on half the time, and everyone else was just doing their own thing. I watched the extended director's cut too, so there was an extra twenty minutes of confusion added to the whole experience. I get what Ridley Scott was going for, but Legend is far from his best work. β†’ film-related note: i've realised that this film is just tom cruise propaganda, because if i was lili, there's no way in hell i'm going home with cruise when tim curry with massive horns and a looksmaxxer's dream face exists

Legend

Legend is a film that many couple with nostalgia. Mistakenly referred to as a dark family-friendly film, Ridley Scott's wildly underrated picture is a film I have no recollection with until last year, and when I first did watch it I was enthralled from start to end. Accustomed to the dark fairy tale it is, yes the film is indeed hounded by imperfections and patchy characters, but, somehow Scott makes it all so tingling to watch. Within its mesmerizing insides are flaws I acknowledge, but it can't seem to disrupt the enormous crush I have on this beauty.

Legend

Director's Cut A joyful watch that carries tiny issues throughout. When I consider the output of Ridley Scott, I typically land on a specific style in mind for the director. Usually a slow start, where the audience follows the protagonist through the world through their eyes, an inciting incident that introduces a villain or element to worry about, before ending with a climactic conclusion that is either metaphorical or quite direct. Legend is a nice misdirection from the creator, though I found the experience at times confusing. Much of this can be boiled down to the quite snappy first act that really only slowed down with the jailhouse sequence. By then, everything was established except for characters, as spare the moments that define them, we aren't able to absorb those moments. Beyond that, and some confusing elements centering the themes and design of the hero's journey, the loss of a trio/duo that was set up to be a larger threat to the heroes, it's still an overall charming experience. It kindles a specific aura of adventure and innocent fun like Labyrinth had as well, so if you enjoy that film, you'll like this one as well.
