If you think about it this is kinda the proto-"A WORLD WHERE GAY IS A NORM & STRAIGHT A MINORITY" AKA Love Is All You Need? (2011) but for 1900s kids Genius in that it exposes the absurdity of the gender roles we subject ourselves to by simply swapping the genders. The abuse that is tolerated against women and inflicted by men was so normalized that to capture a society where the inverse is normal comes off as silly and unimaginable. The title is provocatory and satirizing of headlines and fearmongering intent on scandalizing the feminist movement. "The Consequences of Feminism" pictures the greatest fears of men who oppose it, that women would wield the power they currently hold and use it for the same violence they do. It's so hard for many men (and women) to picture an equal society between the genders that even now, when it feels as though we are closer to that equality than ever, it seems they see this satirical bizzarro world when thinking of feminism and lash out accordingly; hanging on to the status quo out of fear of loss of power, or maybe just the mild inconvenience of seeing women as equals.
