Brave
"There are those who say fate is something beyond our command. That destiny is not our own, but I know better. Our fate lives within us, you only have to be brave enough to see it." One of my favorite disney/pixar movies always.
Brave
Film #5 of April 2016 Scavenger Hunt Task #20: A film which passes the Mako Mori test. Brave is one of the only Pixar films that I hadn't seen. Other than last year's The Good Dinosaur, Brave was the only feature film from them I hadn't seen. And I'm not sure why it took me so long to watch it, since this was actually a surprisingly well done film. Per usual, the animation was absolutely stunning. Pixar has always done a beautiful job animating their films, and this may be one of their most gorgeous. While this may be one of their most beautiful films, the plot suffered some, due to the fact that I was more interested in the mother than the main character. The main focus was the character, but the mother seemed to be the one to steal the show. I understand that Merida is not supposed to be your "typical" princess, but the story still should focus on her, instead of her mother. Brave is another groundbreaking achievement from Pixar's already astounding filmography. The beautiful animation and new idea of a princess are refreshing, even when the plot isn't completely centered around Merida.
