American Murder: The Family Next Door
American Murder: The Family Next Door tells the heartbreaking tale of a woman and children who have gone missing, only to be found deceased by the hands of the husband. Itβs a case that gardner much attention on the national level, and is one that I recall following while it was going on. Itβs utterly heartbreaking to watch a film like this, knowing that the events that unfolded are true, not something that a person has put on the screen from their imagination. Itβs a pretty easy documentary to digest, itβs easy to follow, but my biggest qualm was the presentation. It was nice to see a lot of home footage and body-cam footage, but they needed a narrator to push the film along, as it became pretty stale, despite the horrifying subject matter. As I already knew the outcome, this documentary didnβt offer anything new, but gives the families the chance to have their story told, and have people know what happened to this woman and two children.
