The Brady Bunch Movie
The world spins and evolves, landing directly in the decade of grunge and teenage angst. The seventies are stuck in the ninetiesβwell, at least for the Brady's they areβexploiting color and blessedness and grain in the home of the brightest family on the block. There's a distinct stupidity than runs through The Brady Bunch Movie and it happens to be the central running joke: the idea that this 1970 family is living twenty years in the past. Yes, it's inconceivable and bewildering to rationalize how on earth they haven't adapted to society's change, and yet these are the things that make the film what it is, and every so often its humorous to watch, but however tedious the long run. Compared to the Bradys' world, reality is slanted and stained. A perfect spot-on remake if you will, although it isn't saying much. 2.4/5
