Dumplin'

Dumplin' is a film that falls in line with nearly every beauty pageant cliche, but it has a ton of heart. That's due in part to Danielle Macdonald's lovable Willowdean, and it's body positivity message really shines through. I'm always a sucker for a film that features drag queens, especially with the likes of Ginger Minj, which added even more heart to the film. It may be very generic and isn't anything revolutionary in film, but it's still a fun film with lovable characters that everybody can relate to. I wanted a lighthearted film that I could see after The American Meme, which is exactly what Dumplin' delivers.

Nossa esse filme me bateu de maneira muito forte. Ser uma pessoa que se identifica com a Danielle é bizarro, cara parece que é um filme feito sobre nós pessoas acima do peso que parece q o corpo nunca tá bem pra sociedade. Ainda aborda a arte drag q é extremamente legal vey. Facilmente um dos filmes q mais me apaixonou serio, ele é tão lindo em todos os aspectos. Tb tem a narrativa de perder uma pessoa q te inspira e era sua luz e incrivel! A gente se identifica muito com esse filme sério

Most of the main cast's southern accent seems to be good / decent enough. and then we have Jennifer Anniston...I guess she's trying? Either ways, it just ain't happening luv, some of it had to have been a deliberate, artistic choice, otherwise it's just distractingly funny and undercuts her emotional scenes.
