Water for Elephants

❝I don't know if I picked that circus. But something told me that circus picked me.❞ 𐄁──── ｡ﾟ☆: *.☽ .* :☆ﾟ.────𐄁 Water for Elephants isn't bad, but it's not great, either. I was expecting some kind of tragedy and doomed romance, but it didn't turn out that way, which I'm half thankful for because I wasn't in the mood to cry. As a romance, it's alright, though I've seen better, and it's bettered by the performances of its cast, namely Christoph Waltz and Robert Pattinson. I think the main flaw here is the lack of emotion and development of the romance; the first hour or so is just exposition, so the relationship between Jacob and Marlena barely has any time to marinate before their problems really start, and at that point in the run-time the pacing is extremely rushed. I don't think I'll be watching this again, but if you like romance and you're a fan of Pattinson or Waltz, this might be worth a go.
