The Guilty

The first time I saw this movie I thought it was pretty good, but now, after watching The Guilty (2018), I realized how American it looks and how unnatural the situation seems, however I still find it a good film, although without a doubt I enjoy much more of the Danish version.

❝Broken people save broken people.❞ ۫ ׅ ⊹₊˚‧ ︵‿ ₊ ୨ ᰔ ୧ ₊ ‿︵ ‧˚₊⊹ ׅ ۫ I haven't seen the original Danish film, so I can't make comparisons on that front, but from what I gather The Guilty is a typically inferior Americanised remake. The concept itself isn't necessarily anything new, and there were definitely issues with the editing of the film and the way the story progressed, but Jake Gyllenhaal gave a stellar performance that kept me engaged from beginning to end, and the voice cast also did excellently (I didn't recognise Ethan Hawke and Paul Dano's voices for an embarrassingly long time). I don't think I'll be watching this again, but it was worth a go once, and I'll be sure to check out Den skyldige too.
