Bo Burnham: Inside

this is my first time watching any of bo's work and i'm super impressed! he can sing and play the piano and the guitar, and he's actually funny!! this was super well done and it made me laugh and feel better in a way, and i kinda want to rewatch it again tbh. i'm looking forward to watch more of bo's work!

This special is amazing. Simple as that. Bo Burnham proves that creativity is endless, even if it comes at the expense of your own mental health. Catchy, hilarious and funky songs adjacent to Bo's burnout throughout the course of this special and pandemic. This was amazing and Bo Burnham doing this all on his own is something truly inspirational. It captures how the world has been recently and the struggle perfectly. The shot composition, lighting and editing is so incredible. I guess complimenting the special is the point of it all, huh? It's all about how far an artist will go to make something amazing and I guess it paid off in a weird way. Does any of that make sense? Either way, watch "Inside" as soon as possible

Sincere, insightful, and at times funny. I wasn’t really a fan of any of the songs and I found most of the jokes to be very white and corny, however. Inside being about Bo’s need for connection, and seeing the depth raw emotion behind the not very good jokes, saved the entire thing for me. His desire for human connection, the lows to which his depression brought him, how he pretends to be nonchalant about the pain, it’s something a lot of us can relate to, no? Especially given just how hard last year was for many of us. It’s just a shame I don’t care for the songs. To be fair though, I don’t like musicals or theater kids. So, damn, double homicide. P.S.I thought the song about Content™ only became funny when a few people in my theater were laughing during his very visible breakdown. Like him getting frustrated with himself made them laugh? Hm, perhaps Bo was onto something, no?
