Rambo: Last Blood

I can see why so many people don’t like this film, but to me it was a good end to the series. As somebody who wasn’t a massive fan of the 2008 Rambo, this was a return to form. The acting is very questionable, and plot makes little sense, but there was something interesting about this one. What let’s it down is the lack of action, with the final scene being by far the best. It’s not as good as the original three, but i enjoyed watching this taken inspired thriller.

Rambo: Last Blood

I watched the extended version of this. This was insane. It felt almost exactly what I wanted to see in a rambo sequel. Its dark, bloody, gory and crazy. At first this started really slow for me. Considering I watched the extended cut this was by far the longest rambo film. I think I watched the extended ones for the others too though. The length I feel both adds and takes away. But I think it added more. The story this time I found fresh and enjoyable. Instead of the basic war plot this time it surrounds rambo and his family. Which is actually an interesting idea. For the most part I felt kinda disappointed because of what eventually happened to them. It was dark how abrupt that was. For the past 2 films I've been wanting more character added to rambo and this did exactly that. His character in this does feel a lot closer to the original than 3 does lol. Even with the old age. The characters this time as I mentioned before all had dark stories. The family characters I did find enjoyable for the most part. The villians by far have to be the worst of the franchise in terms of actions. I felt besides what they did, the characters felt pretty bland. Maybe I would say more if I could understand Spanish lol. I literally had to rent this just to see the subtitles lol. The action this time I really enjoyed as well. It felt like a good mix between the original and the last movie. The gore was insane and very welcomed tbh. That ending scene was absolutely crazy. I'm glad this was different because watching the last 3 back 2 back every day they started to blur together and feel tiring. However this felt like a good ending to Rambo's story in my opinion. The ending monologue especially felt like a good send off. Overall I found it enjoyable, reminiscent and a bloody good watch literally. I will watch the prequel whenever it releases.
