Gretel & Hansel

Good set design, an interesting color palette, and decent score don’t make up for a poor script, uninteresting direction, and some scenes with some sketchy acting, Gretel & Hansel takes what could have made it good and creates a train wreck of a film. I had high hopes for this film, especially after seeing promotions for the film, but I should have known better, instead of letting what seemed to be an experimental take on the classic tale. I’m all for reimagining classic fairy tales, and this one has had a need for a good adaptation. But, they have to be done right, and this film falls into the category of films that try too hard to be something they aren’t. I applaud the attempt at changing this story up, but it ultimately ends up being a massive dud.

Gretel y Hansel se cocina a fuego lento, tan lento que el momento de disfrutarlo llega tan tarde que es difícil hacerlo, es una pena por que el gran trabajo de Galo Olivares en esta obra es magnífico,una pena también por la manipulaciones aburrida y sin sentido que el director Oz Perkins le da a una de las historias más interesantes de los hermanos Grimm.
