I really enjoyed the first hour but there is such a sharp decrease in enjoyment during the last hour, and especially the last 25 minutes, that I can’t in good conscience give this higher than three and a half. Was honestly really enjoying the Hitchcock family thriller section way more than the creature feature section.

SPOOKTOBER #19 Only Hitchcock could turn something as simple as a bird attack into such a tense experience. Even if the visuals feel a bit absurd now and sometimes even amusing the suspense still holds up, and there’s this eerie feeling that lingers. Back in the day, it must have been downright terrifying to watch!

I am a big fan of Hitchcocks films and this one is no different. The suspense and interesting cast make for a great viewing. Tippi is great, as she was in Marnie, and Rod Taylor also gives a solid performance. I wasn’t crazy about the ending through.
