Legion of Super-Heroes
I really love how the creators are experimenting and adding new things in the DCAU. And once again like Green Lantern , I am seeing a different way for Supergirl. I am really loving these but I hope they will make them more longer. Although I have a disappointment , Supergirl and Braniac 5 !! Come on , how am I supposed to live with this. But still great movie. (Spoiler Alert) Another thing about it's brilliance is that how they are setting up a big war event for the Justice League. They did a great set up about Zeta beam in Green Lantern : Beware my Power and now a post credit in this movie. These creators truly know how to make a connected universe.
Legion of Super-Heroes
Not as bad as I was expecting The credit scene was definitely interesting I always enjoy dc animated films
Legion of Super-Heroes
LEGION OF SUPERHEROES…well. It wasn’t god awful like the Lanterns (https://boxd.it/30Tstz) movie, but I still don’t think it was great. Which is frustrating because it’s fucking DC. Some of the greatest stories and characters in comics can be attributed to them. That this new team in charge of the DCAU is struggling to adapt either in a compelling way…blows my mind. (To be fair, it’s not like the previous continuity wasn’t any better!) Kara getting some shine and essentially having a movie all to herself to develop her character apart from Clark was a great idea. However, the execution was very lack luster. While I enjoyed most of the scenes w/Kara training with the Legion academy students (Brainiac 5 in particular), the lack of the actual legion (Saturn Girl, my beloved🫶🏾), paired with a poor adaptation of Mon-El (fuck you i like him), just brought the movie down for me. Not to mention, the film’s main narrative itself feels predictable, by-the-numbers, and the villain(s) feel flat and ultimately uninteresting—their only motivations being the writers needed them to be the bad guys. But as I said, I definitely enjoyed this one more than their last few entries in this universe. I just wish the writing was more engaging overall and consistently good with these. The only ones that stand out to me are The Man of Tomorrow and The Justice Society—with Superman’s solo entry easily being the strongest so far. If they fuck up the Warworld plot in the next one I don’t know what I’ll do. I hope it’s great, as it’ll be the first JL movie in this continuity, but I’m not confident. (Speaking of Warworld, everyone should go read Action Comic’s last arc featuring it and Mongul. It’s fucking excellent.)
Legion of Super-Heroes
I haven’t seen a DC animated film for many, many years, but I always remembered them being quite good. Legion of Super-Heroesfeels, to me, like a incredibly bland mish-mash of tropes and cheese to a point that it becomes a bit un-enjoyable. The animation is decent, but the story really ends up deteriorating once Kara (Meg Donnelly) goes into the Legion Academy. Also, Jensen Acklesvoicing Batman was decent. I don’t know if they’ll keep using him, but I guess I wouldn’t be opposed to the idea.
