Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers

Night 20 of 31 Nights of Halloween A little more campier than the first film, as well as a little less interesting, Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers is an entertaining film in my favorite horror subgenre. I still love watching cabin in the woods films, and this film definitely keeps up with many of the other films in the genre. Taking place much time after the first film, we continue to see the lead from the first film continue on a murderous path, coming up with some very interesting kills along the way. The dialogue is horrible at times, the effects are cheap, but that makes the film that much more enjoyable. While Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers doesn't manage to keep up with the first film, it's still a fun film that I do want to rewatch as a binge with the first film, as well as the third to see how the Sleepaway Camp series looks together.

I knew there would be a tonal shift and I went in kinda excited for a fun slasher but idk man, I don’t think I laughed at a single thing.  The kills aren’t very good either, a lot of them happen off-screen except for the toilet kill which wasn’t the fun kind of gross.  5.5/10
