Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I have no clue why I put this on, but still had fun watching it. It’s interesting to see the series go from the horrors that Hitler inflicted to the beginning of the Cold War, it would be nice to see them explore it a little more in the next installment in the series.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

After the finale of the Indiana Jones trilogy, they decide "Hey, let's make another!" and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is conceived. An older Jones and a different era make up this film. Instead of facing the Nazi party, now they are facing the Communists. It was interesting to see how they used the Communists as the villains, as the Cold War was just starting to get heated. It was great to see Indiana back! Although Harrison Ford is much older, he still had a skip in his step once he suited up as Indiana. Cate Blanchett actually stood out a lot for me. It was really nice getting to see some old faces (pardon the pun) from previous films! Altogether, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull isn't the strongest film in the series, but it isn't as terrible as people make it out to be. There were some choices that were... interesting (why would celestial beings even be considered for an action movie?) This film hopefully marks the end to a fantastic series, even though it doesn't go out with such a bang as I was hoping.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull certainly is the oddest film in the Indiana Jones franchise. Leaving Nazis behind, Russians now become the villains of the story, seeing a distinct change throughout the entire film. It's interesting seeing how the film did change when it came to the villains, having a completely different view on the villains. This film is probably the least accessible of the series, since it happens to be the most outrageous. The previous films had that believability to it, where you could see these adventures actually happening. For the most part this is true for Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but once the film reaches its climax, this believability dissipates, leaving you wondering if this film was a joke, or if this really was what they thought was a good idea for Indiana Jones.
