The Thing

"If I was an imitation, a perfect imitation, how would you know if it was really me?" English: You can't trust anyone — not even yourself... The Thing is grotesque and deeply paranoid, it leaves you doubting everything. And that’s frustrating… but also euphoric. At the end, you never know who’s human and who’s not. And somehow, that’s even scarier than the flesh-melting chaos every time the Thing mutates. There were moments I couldn’t even look at the screen — and yet I loved every second of it. This is true horror. It's my kind of thing. P.S: The Norwegians were doing everything right. Damn language barrier. Damn dog. Now the beginning hits different. --------------------------------------------------------------- "Si yo fuera una imitación, una imitación perfecta… ¿cómo sabrías que realmente soy yo?" Spanish: No puedes confiar en nadie — ni siquiera en ti mismo... The Thing es grotesca y profundamente paranoica, te deja dudando de todo. Y eso es frustrante… pero también eufórico. Al final, nunca tienes certeza de quién es humano y quién no. Y de algún modo, eso es aún más aterrador que el caos hecho carne cada vez que la cosa muta. Hubo momentos en los que no podía ni mirar la pantalla — y aun así, amé cada segundo. El verdadero horror. PD: Los noruegos estaban haciendo lo correcto, pero la maldita barrera del lenguaje... y tierno perrito.

The Thing

An interesting film, with only two real locations throughout the whole run time. The plot is simple and interesting, and there are two great jump scares. The editing is a little out dated though, and the monster can be funny at times. A fun watch.
