Jodie Comer gives a stunning performance in this thrilling BBC mini-series. The plot is inconsistent at times, the ending feels forced, and the show has one of the worst police forces in all of TV. However, it’s still interesting and enjoyable until the end.

I genuinely thought this was gonna be a lesbian coming-of-age film... turns out I was completely wrong, and it was WAY heavier than I expected. Like... way worse 😭. And the moment I realized "Thirteen" literally refers to their age??? yeah that hit me. This whole film is just messed up in every possible way because how are they going through all of that at thirteen?? It's actually insane. I read other people's reviews after watching, and as an Asian, I was lowkey shocked that so many people related to Tracy and Evie's experience. It really shows how messed up some environments can be for young girls. That being said... I do relate to Tracy a bit (the scars thing). But yeah, I can't even lie—this film is iconic. The color grading getting darker and darker towards the end??? yeah that was so well done, it literally mirrors how everything spirals. And the cinematography feels super raw, which makes it hit even harder. Also the fashion?? actually iconic. About Tracy and Evie... I honestly see both of them as victims. Like yeah, Tracy changed a lot after meeting Evie, but if you look at Evie's life, she's clearly been through some really bad stuff too—maybe even worse. And Tracy's parents definitely played a part in how Tracy turned out. Her relationship with her mom honestly made everything hit even harder—you can tell her mom cares, but at the same time, she doesn't fully realize what Tracy is going through until things get really bad. I saw someone say Tracy was already kinda messed up even before Evie came into her life, and honestly... yeah, that makes sense. So if we're blaming anyone, it should be the parents, not the girls. Overall, yeah... this film is iconic, even though it's heavy as hell. It really shows how young girls can get exposed to such a toxic environment way too early, which is just... depressing to think about. And the ending?? it actually made me cry. It felt so raw and real, and it just hit all at once. Also, bonus points for the cinematography and color grading!

What do you do when you're at thirteen? Well i'm just hyping up k-pop in my social media like the other kids, but this.. damn what a complicated puberty movie. Are thirteens had to do like that? This movie is so depressing and giving yoy point of view being Bad bad teenager and wrong friend. I love the color grading in this movie when to the end it changes to blue grey portraying how depressed she was. Also i love you Tracey, you just choose the wrong friend and that's fine because you're on your puberty and you want to try everything, but Evie.. oh you little manipulating fake friend i hate you.

I don't want to see this film a second time; it's disturbing in some parts.
