Thunderbolt and Lightfoot
“You sure don’t know a good thing when you see it, do you?” Errr…what do you mean that Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges star in a bank heist film that features homoerotic subtext that is freudian in nature? I’d never heard of ‘THUNDERBOLT and LIGHTFOOT’ before this week (and i can kind of see why) but I’m glad I watched it. It’s nothing genre defining and it doesn’t feature anyone’s best performances (though Bridges does outshine Eastwood) but it’s a solid flick with really interesting and fun character dynamics. It’s also just cool to experience 70s cinema (which is a blindspot of mine, one of many) and see what’ve culture of the time reflected in the film. Also, there’s a really cool gun.
