Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin

It doesn't look like the Paranormal Activity that i'm used to watch, it's more like a mockumentary with a simulation game/ARG feel. It was fun and pretty scary, but I wish it looked more like Paranormal Activity.

Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin

Night 29 of 31 Nights of Halloween The newest installation into the Paranormal Activity franchise is an interesting one. Somewhat announced out of nowhere, it was a surprise to hear that there was going to be another film introduced into the series, especially after how poorly recieved The Ghost Dimension was. As hesitant as I was going into this one, I was excited to be back into this franchise. And wow, what a surprise this film was! The setting was perfect for what they were going for, allowing the cold and isolation to slowly creep up on the audience, creating some great moments of terror that would have otherwise been normal jump scares if done differently. While it may not have a direct connection to the original series, I can appreciate what they were wanting to do with this, adding even more to the lore of the series. I had so much fun with this film, and genuinely think that it’s one of the better found footage movies that’s come out recently. It may take a while to get into, but it’s definitley worth the time in the end. I cannot wait to give this film another watch, and might just have to do a rewatch of the franchise, especially since I have the Second Sight edition of the first film!

okay but I actually liked this movie, the last 20 minutes were really entertaining, it doesn't feel like paranormal activity but it's not bad at all
