the very annoying teenage boy whose only character trait is talking about sex needs to go. i am tired. not terrible but nothing special. I'll give it credit for subverting my expectations on a few things. I guess it's a good intro horror movie for newbies. though that tonal shift at the end took it for lighthearted to dark. it would have been a better movie if it hard that dark tone from the beginning.

The last of the films that I had slated for the day, Summer of 84 also happened to be the best of the bunch. While it isn't a horror film like I originally thought, it's a fantastic coming of age film that really is reminiscent of 80's horror films. With a little editing, and adding of grain, this film really could seem like it was filmed in the 80's. It's a fun film with likable characters that many people can relate to, as well as some twists and turns that keep you interested. This film may be labeled as a horror film by some, which it unfortunately isn't, but it's still a great thriller and a great film overall.

i was expecting them to be wrong about their neighbor and some plot twist the movie gave me stranger things vibes and i loved it tho
