Gugusse and the Automaton
When did man become cog in the machine? When did automation take over him to become a product of society? And when does that product get into free hands, the maker, the dreamer, the escaper? I always think about art lost to time. I always like to honor any film on Letterboxd that has watches in the hundreds. Because someone made it. And sometimes they are gems. Lost to generations, gone in oversight. And then I think of my own art, its place in the world, or if it’ll just remain with me to my grave. I don’t know. I don’t know why I do it all. But I guess for the few that have seen it, I only hope it makes them a little less lonely.
