Night 20 of 31 Nights of Halloween Wow. What a big surprise Better Watch Out was. Going into the film knowing nearly nothing really was the best way to experience this film, as it really gives you no idea of what you're in for. I hadn't even read a synopsis of the film, I went in completely blind and had the time of my life. While it may not 100% be a horror film, there certainly were moments throughout that were horrifying, especially with the holiday setting. It's not the best holiday themed horror/thriller, but it's still a fantastically fun and wild film, a film I can't wait to watch again. *Note: This film feels like it's in the same vein as Green Room, where there is a lot of violence and gore, but not a lot of actual scares, so if you enjoyed Green Room, then you might want to check this film out.*

What in the world was this. This was the complete opposite of what I thought it was going to be. Still a pretty enjoyable time. Ashley is a pretty good final girl and that ending scene was sick. Was not at all expecting an incel 12 year old villian lmao such a crazy plot twist. Also what's the point if he doesn't die? I mean I probably would've rated this 4 stars if we saw a better conclusion than that. The horror aspects were pretty stupid, I absolutely hate films that use r*pe or abusing women as the horror. The blood/gore was pretty normal for the most part. I did like the home alone recreation though. I kinda wish we got a sequel or something for this because I really hate the villian. The rest of the characters were fine and I do give props to the kid actor though. I definitely don't recommend watching this if you are expecting a Christmas slasher. But it's still an ok horror film. Could've done better tho.
