The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

dvd that has been collecting dust on my shelf #5 I tried watching this movie a year ago and only got to the part where they meet the little boy but after rewatching the original Texas Chainsaw recently I finally got around this remake from a DVD I bought earlier this year. I really liked this one. I'd say it had more disturbing scenes than the og but it og has MORE disturbing elements than this one if you know what I mean. I definitely need to watch the rest of the franchise because its really good so far and the whole cannibalistic nature is very good/disturbing in this and in horror media I love it. I feel like I should've watched the other movies that came out after the og did but I wanted to see this one first to compare and see what they did differently and I do love some of the changes. I'm going to start Texas Chainsaw 2 1986 very soon.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Day 2: I prefer this version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre over the original. This movie has more of a plot and actually didn't make me want to fall asleep while watching it. The movie was done very well, since it was done in the "golden" days of horror, the early 2000's. I enjoyed the original, but this one kick's the original's butt.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Night 6 of 31 Nights of Halloween Now that I have a newfound love for the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, it's clear to see that this film isn't as effective as the first film. But, that doesn't mean that this film is a bad film, as it really is a great film, it just has a very hard time living up to an amazing original film. This version is a little more graphic, actually allowing the horrors to be shown, rather than implied, or with more gore than could have been shown at the time. Censors definitely hindered the original film, as well as the low budget, but that's what gives the film it's charm. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a decent remake that can't quite live up to the original film, but builds upon what the original wasn't able to do to give a more graphic, edgier version, which is a surprisingly entertaining version.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
