Como é bom ver uma comédia que não tem medo de ser uma comédia. Sendo absurda do seu jeito e com um tropo até que manjado, Ricky Stanicky é um filme sincero em sua proposta e execução. Talvez ganhasse mais pontos se desenvolvesse um pouco mais a motivação para a mentira patológica, mas sendo um filme de comédia ele é muito eficaz e muito disso se dá pela participação do John Cena. Sabendo que a comédia é sua casa, ele faz o terreno, constrói a fundação e diz: Querida, entre! Só o conceito do seu personagem já é fascinante, um ator falido que faz um show de paródia imitando estrelas e canta do músicas e ensaios sobre masturbação... Tipo... E eu sinto que poderia ver uma hora ou mais só disso. O segmento a cerca dos maneirismos do personagem do William H. Macy, eu não lembro a última vez que eu ri tanto sobre uma piada estendida a cerca de sexo oral em pênis não existentes. Um bom companheiro pra um dia descontraído.

i don’t think i’ll ever understand letterboxd users and their aversion to fun. don’t get me wrong, i do have my issues with this, like all the joke’s about that baby’s penis were downright horrific, the entire opening scene made me wanna kill myself a little, and men being the douchebags they typically are in these types of movies was frustrating…but i wouldn’t say it was bad. as disappointed as i’ve been with john cena’s recent comments, he truly does make this movie. as a lifelong wrestling fan, he’s easily been the best wrestler turned actor i’ve ever seen. he was pretty funny here as he often is. a lot of the jokes in this movie simply aren’t funny, which is another issue i have with it, but the jokes that did actually make me laugh were made by cena. the way he switched back and forth from comedic to somewhat serious and sincere was effortless and i can see him having a long career in hollywood. oh and erin is so gorgeous, if she wanted to drop dean i’d treat her so well!
