Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers

Dez anos após os acontecimentos dos dois primeiros filmes, Michael Myers estava num estado catatônico e vai ser transferido de instituição psiquiátrica para ser trancado, mas isso não funciona e ele volta pra Handofield em busca de vingança. Sendo uma sequência dez anos após o segundo filme, essa produção traz de volta Myers pro centro da trama envolvendo uma nova perseguição, com novos personagens e o icônico assassino mascarado numa sequência que começa a dar seus passo em um rumo sobrenatural, ao qual liga Michael a uma sobrinha que tem esse passado ligado ao assassino. O filme segue os passos de seus dois primeiros filmes, mais parecido com o segundo onde o imediatismo comanda e o Michael se torna um super humano resistente a tudo. O filme emula em alguns pontos a câmera perseguidora de Carpenter, mas não supera ou é tão inspirado quanto os anteriores. Um filme okay.

A little clunky and lot of fun! The way a couple of these flicks just opt out of Laurie is pretty funny and unceremonious. Loomis' burn scarring on the move, it's great. Favorite scene/kill: Michael doing his rockin' chair thing in the dark.

Michael is back, after an absence, and really isn't bigger or badder. Seeming to avoid authorities and death several times already, it was clear that this franchise was already getting tired. With the return of Michael Myers, it would be expected that the films were going to head into a good direction, but that's not entirely the case. Halloween 4 has the basic plot of the first two films, yet again having a different cast and different situations, but is ultimately the same plot. The return of this character really should have restarted the series, taking it in a good direction, but with a weak script and basic plot, this film marked the downfall of the Halloween franchise. Regardless of its plot, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers still is an entertaining horror film that offers unique kills and an altogether fun time.
