The Meg

Consciente de si sem perder a noção do ridículo e do legal. Acho interessante como o filme se permite ser essa coisa grandiosa no começo com a exploração, a base aquática que mais parece uma estação espacial, a forma como o fundo do mar é escuro, mas que possui cores por conta da iluminação e dos animais e quando o monstro finalmente aparece ele é bem do sem vergonha no começo eu achei que ele ficaria escondido no escuro da fossa das Marianas, mas aí a sequência da perseguição de barco escancara o bichão com um sol e detalhes que você percebe que é um bicho digital, mas como a proposta é ser filme de tubarão gigante assassino isso não importa tanto e inclusive tem momentos de tensão genuíno e demonstrar a força do monstro com efeitos físicos no barco é bom demais.

the movie didn’t really put me on the edge of my seat like it was supposed to do, it was meh. the visuals was meh as well, overall an average movie.

The Meg

The Meg isn't a revolutionary shark film by any means. It seems that there has been a resurgence of shark films within the past couple of years, with The Shallows and 47 Meters Down being the more notable entries into this shark frenzy. The Meg is a middle of the road film, offering just enough thrills to keep audiences entertained, but offering little on actual scares (except for me, who was absolutely terrified the entire time. I have no idea why I decide to go see shark films in the theater, well knowing how terrified I am going to be). While the film had some interesting twists and turns, it was an altogether average film, just a typical summer blockbuster-esque film.
