On Her Majesty's Secret Service
This one was a lot better than I expected, with a great story and good acting. The ending was amazing and memorable, Bond getting married was something new and it made for a fresh, enjoyable watch.

Astonishing how good this was, and I don't think I'm just saying that after enduring the previous onslaught of Bonds. A sea change in visual style and editing, a more interesting Bond in Lazenby, a much more interesting Bond Girl in Rigg, harder-to-overpower baddies, genuine thrills, laughter, and emotions by film's end. Savalas' Blofeld is perfect as the kind of menacing cartoon who can cure any human allergy and hypnotize sleeper agents, but isn't above chasing you the fuck down on skiis or being bamboozled by a pretty lady wielding poetry. The plotting and pacing takes you for a ride, too, with me asking "Why are we on this beach", "Why are we looking at more and more plates of chicken and potatos", "Will we ever escape Christmas village", and enjoying most every mad moment of it. Up to this moment I'd thought the Daniel Craig films were the biggest rejuvination for the character, but no! The breadcrumbs and blueprints were laid out here; in a proto-modern emotive action rogue production which somehow just exists in the haze of '69. *pained expression* Nice.

Cariño, tenemos todo el tiempo del mundo. James Bond no puede dejar de ser fuckboy porque le matan a la morra. En fin, sigo sin buscarle una queja mayor a esta saga por ahora a pesar del cambio de Sean Connery como James Bond.

I hate this finale. Not because tracy died. Far from it but because of the Credits It simply rolled in with the loud main score. That totally ruined the grief of her death. Sometimes it makes you wish this anthology structure of the series was never established so it can follow up on this film instead of glossing over it and only references it. And it’s by far one of the best bond films ever. Even if Lazenby is dull as fuck as Bond but that’s not the point.
