Halloween III: Season of the Witch

This was pretty bad. Seems to have a cult following, many of whom seem to think it’s so bad that it’s good? It’s hard to really tell but I didn't get much out of this at all. Appreciate that they tried to go away from Michael Myers, but this really didn’t even work. It’s probably the least scary film you’ll ever watch and I’d probably show this to an 8 year old and not be concerned at all. The advert song is pretty catching though.

Tentando ser um spin off dos dois últimos filmes que conta a história de Michael numa noite de Halloween fazendo uma trilha de corpos em busca da irmã. Esse filme mais parece um grande Episódio de The Twilight Zone (Além da Imaginação aqui no Brasil), do que um spin off da franquia que até então só tinha dois filmes. Tentando usar uma temática de bruxas e os símbolos pagãos do Halloween, esse filme vira uma espécie de crítica conciente e com momentos de tensão bem caricatos e um texto que você não sabe se é uma paródia de terror ou uma crítica a grandes corporações de sua época. Se tivesse um título diferente, talvez pudesse ser melhor aproveitado e analisado. Um filme okay.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch

Forgot we even watched this just a few days ago. Peppered with moments of choice violence or haunting suit-clad villainy, wild world notions and dark magicks and our relationship to tech and media and so on and so on... but othwrwise had all the energy of legacy television, trudging along. An ongoing anthology context might have been alright for it, but as is it didn't register much of a tremor.
