Night 22 of 31 Nights of Halloween Da Palma is at it again, crafting a story that is absolutely compelling, told in a visual style that only Da Palma was doing. It’s a compelling drama (not necessarily horror, but there are horror elements present throughout) that hooked me from the get-go. It’s a wildly twisty tale that I had a ton of fun with.

Hooptober X (https://boxd.it/oR2z6) #6 of 32 • 4 of 5 films from De Palma (https://letterboxd.com/director/brian-de-palma/genre/horror/), Wes Craven (https://letterboxd.com/director/wes-craven/genre/horror/), Ken Russell (https://letterboxd.com/director/ken-russell/genre/horror/), Hitchcock (https://letterboxd.com/director/alfred-hitchcock/genre/horror/) and/or Moorhead & Benson (https://letterboxd.com/rsthilaire/list/moorhead-and-benson/genre/horror/) It faltered a bit towards the end, but this is a very solid horror/thriller film. It's clear to see De Palma's many inspirations for certain themes as well has how this film has influenced some other modern-day horror themes.
