One question. Why? Eddie Murphy, a first-class actor who previously never starred in low-quality films, has been on a downward trend lately. First, he starred in the absurd “Candy Cane Lane,” and now he has signed up for an absolutely unnecessary sequel to “Beverly Hills Cop,” which can't even properly capitalize on nostalgia. The movie exists solely to rake in money. There is no coherent plot, no meaningful emotional dialogues, and no captivating moments. I was extremely disappointed.

A little long, but doesn’t fall into the trap of overstaying its welcome. Murphy slides back into the role effortlessly, if he wants to make a run at continuing the series, he’s definitely still got it. The cast is game, and everyone seems to be having fun and whatnot. The jokes are a bit hokey and obvious, but hey, it’s enjoyable. 2024 Ranked (https://boxd.it/rJ4dW)
