The People Under the Stairs
About when "Big Ed" kicks onto the scene in full garb and shotgun is when the flick helped me through my initial misgivings. Devilishly gleeful as any other Craven experience I've tapped into, turbocharged with festering racist Christian fundies and Reagan cataclysm. Like with Candyman, it's wild to see 90's approaches to race & class issues decades after the fact. All in all a darkly comic rendering of a distinctly American evil, informed by fable, which can still throw a match on the pile.
The People Under the Stairs
The People Under the Stairs
still as good as i remember. i watched it as a kid with my parents and it has stuck with me ever since especially the bathtub scene. it can be ridiculous sometimes but the gore and intense chasing around are so entertaining and the end is so satisfying
The People Under the Stairs
